While I like to tease customers that it is the “magic banjo fairy dust” that we sprinkle on each of our banjos before they ship that makes them sound so good, the truth is we continually focus on improving each and every component of our banjos to improve their sound and ease of performance.
If you are new to banjo, welcome! If you are anything like many fellow beginning banjo players, you likely deal with one or more of these common issues.

The fall season over the last three years has been a time for giving back in partnering with Cheerwine and The Avett Brothers in the Legendary Giveback Campaign! This year is no different...we are happy to continue the tradition in making this years' one of a kind Legendary Giveback IV Banjo!
It all started this summer during the Gentlemen of the Road charity banjos campaign, benefiting various human needs organizations throughout the US and UK. As the summer came to a close and the auctions were completed Mumford & Sons asked if we could create similar charity banjos for their tour Down Under this November.
The Legendary Giveback III Banjo is here and truly one of a kind! We have once again teamed up with North Carolina indie-folk rockers The Avett Brothers, Cheerwine®, the legendary soft drink of the South, for the third consecutive year to present the Legendary Giveback III Campaign for 2014. As part of this we have created a NEW one of a kind “Cheerwine Red” maple banjo with a custom banjo head. This is being auctioned off for charity on eBay beginning December 8th and closing December 17th, 2014.
It may not feel like it where you are right now, but after this long winter, Spring is fast approaching. After record breaking cold and snow (unless you are in southern California - like us), warmer weather will soon be upon us. Soon you will be able to enjoy all of your favorite outdoor activities whether it be at a music festival, beach, hiking, camping, or on your porch. All of these activities can be even more fun if you bring your banjo with you.
There is an unprecedented demand for Deering banjos right now that has raised several issues.
Inspired by the movie “Zombieland” featuring Woody Harrelson whose character at one point uses a banjo to fight off Zombies, Greg Deering created the latest 5-string Goodtime banjo - the Zombie Killer Goodtime banjo. Launched at the 2013 Anaheim NAMM (National Association of Music Merchandisers) Trade Show, the Zombie Killer banjo was a hit with general attendees and dealers alike. With a “blood splatter” resonator finish and a “saw blade-edged” brilliant red flange made with a cut-out zombie-themed pattern to match the fingerboard inlays, the Zombie Killer captures the attention of the audience without even strumming a note.
