Beginning Tenor Banjo Lessons | Careless Love

In this tenor banjo lesson we will take on learning a song. We're going to learn how to play Careless Love. Careless Love is a traditional jazz/blues tune that has been recorded by many people. Bessie Smith had a very popular version of this song in 1925. It has been recorded many times since. Even 5 string banjo master Earl Scruggs recorded a version. 

One of the things that make this fairly easy to play a chord melody version of this song on the tenor banjo is that most of the melody notes fall on chord tones.
