It goes without saying that 2019 was an incredible year! And as always, it was you who made it so special.
When we reflect on the year, the best memories nearly always come from events that we have attended, seeing old friends, and making new ones.
From Merlefest to IBMA and everything in between, we had the chance to introduce the banjo to so many new players and witness the pure joy on their faces as they strummed their first chord.
Personally, it is always such a joy to be able to take time to sit with banjo players from all over the world, and learn about how the banjo literally changed their life. Many are brand new to playing any kind of musical instrument. Others are experienced in other instruments like guitar or violin and have found the challenge and fun in learning something new. In a few cases, players have found solace in the banjo while navigating the challenges of depression or overcoming an injury. In one case at the annual Eagle Music event in Huddersfield, England, one Deering customer shared his newfound love of playing banjo as he coped with the onset of a life changing illness. The banjo became his escape.
And while we here at the Deering factory spend our day to day focusing on the manufacturing processes, the quality, or how easy the website is to navigate, it is the joy and determination of these amazing people that puts what we do into crystal clear perspective.
This is what drives Deering Banjo Co. This is why we do what we do.
So, thank you very much for everything that you do to support banjo. And with that, please sit back and I hope you enjoy this personal message and song from the Deering's!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
