Paula Boggs Band Visits Deering Factory

by Jamie Latty

We had a visit earlier this year from the always delightful Paula Boggs Band, who joined us at the Deering factory for a chat and a song!

Following former careers in the army and as a business Lawyer, Paula Boggs turns to music, starting the Paula Boggs Band with co-founders Mark Chinen on 6-string banjo, and percussionist Tor Dietrichson, who all dropped into the Deering showroom to talk about their current touring, working with Dom Flemmons and more!

The band, who dub their musical styles as "soulgrass" blend jazz with Americana music have steadily toured around the US in support of a growing and impressive catalog of music. Their latest release, Janus is a wonderful addition to their repertoire and includes the song King Brewster which features Dom Flemons of Carolina Chocolate Drop fame.

On tour, Mark Chinen regularly plays a Boston 6 String AE banjo and recently picked up a brand new Vega Vintage Star. Paula meanwhile can be found switching between her guitar and her Goodtime banjo ukulele

Thank you, guys, for coming by to say hi and have fun on tour!
