Deering Banjo Company is proud to announce that it has chosen string pioneers, GHS Strings as its string supplier.
GHS has been producing strings for Deering production models since early 2020. Today, we have the pleasure of announcing that they have also taken on the production of Deering's popular range of string packs! The new packs utilize a classy foil packaging, as well as GHS's revolutionary Nitro-Pack for superior anti-corrosion and strings that stay fresh, ready for when you need them. Check out the new string sets now.
All Deering strings will also feature GHS’s proprietary LockTwist system at the loop end, which secures the wire better, resulting in the highest break point available in standard plain steel strings.
As part of the launch, Deering will be hosting a special Deering Live session at 6pm ET/3pm PT on Thursday August 20th with Jens Kruger and Jon Moody from GHS, to discuss all things string! Click here to watch live!
Deering string packs feature 11 different sets. This includes seven 5-string sets, three 4-string sets and a 6 string set. And with more to be announced soon, you can bet you will find the right pack for you!
GHS of Battle Creek, MI is no stranger to producing banjo string sets, producing the JD Crowe signature set, as well as the Sonny Osborne signature set which has been the string set of choice for banjo virtuoso and Deering artist, Jens Kruger for the last few years.
Kruger, who is notoriously particular about his strings, told us “after playing and trusting in GHS strings for most of my professional career, I find them to be the finest and most reliable strings available. They sound free and fresh but at the same time the overtones are not overly pronounced like it is the case with some other brands.”
Jon Moody, Manager of Digital Brand Development and Product Development for GHS , stating “Deering is a well-loved brand with a rich heritage. We're incredibly excited to be a small part of that heritage moving forward, helping Deering artists sound the best that they can."
