Thanks For the Memories - Carolina Bridges

Written by Carolina Bridges | May 25, 2017 5:24:01 PM

If you are old enough to remember the comedian Bob Hope, he used to end many of his live performances with a song called “Thanks for the Memories.” I remember it because it was always sung with a poignant sadness and joy combined. As I retire from over 20 years of working for the Deering Banjo Company, I now understand his feelings better.

While I look forward to the adventure of retirement, I will surely miss all of you who have become my “banjo pals” throughout these over 20 years with Deering. We have shared tales of trials and errors, always filled with laughter and smiles at our attempts to make music on America’s own instrument, the banjo.

It has been both a privilege and a pleasure to be part of the Deering Banjo Company’s growth over these last 20 years. Your confidence and support are well-placed here at Deering and I know you will all continue to share in the joy that comes with being an owner of a Deering banjo.

Thank you for making this time fulfilling, wondrous, and joyous. Know that I wish all of you the continued joy of making music. There will be many fine folks here to continue to answer your questions and smooth the path to success for you. You can ask for David Vega or Jamie Latty who will be happy to work with you on any and all banjo questions and concerns.

But always remember….HAVE FUN…because that is really what it is all about!
