Everyone knows that scene from Deliverance. But the banjo has made several other notable cameos in Hollywood over the years. Some hilarious. Some serious. Some just downright perfect.

Here is our pick of the best...

1. Zombieland (2009)

The inspiration behind our Goodtime Zombie Killer Banjo, Woody Harrelson uses a banjo to lure the zombies and save mankind (and his Twinkie Bar)

2. O Brother Where Art Thou (2000)

One of the biggest events to influence banjo popularity. The Coen Brothers deliver a phenomenal movie that was probably better known for its soundtrack!

3. Cool Hand Luke (1967)

Legend of the silverscreen Paul Newman shows that he is more than just one of the greatest actors of our time. He can play banjo too!

4. Muppet Movie (1979)

There really isnt anything to say here except, wow...who could forget this opening scene?

5. Bonnie & Clyde (1967)

I don't care who you are...there is no better way to make a getaway than in a 1933 DeSoto, accompanied by the unmistakable sound of Foggy Mountain Breakdown by Flatt & Scruggs. A classic movie scene if ever there was one...

What do you think of our picks? What other movies feature the banjo should have made the cut? Tell us in the comments below!
