The Goodtime Solana 6 was officially unveiled at the 2014 Summer NAMM Show in Nashville over the weekend and it certainly raised some eyebrows! So this felt like a good opportunity to talk about something we noticed during the development of this instrument.

The Solana 6 is a first for Deering and we once again find ourselves in the choppy seas of uncharted territory to push the boundaries of the banjo. Deering genuinely pours its heart and soul into every instrument that it produces and the Solana 6 is no exception. When we developed this model, we took prototypes in various stages of development to a number of trade shows and festivals over a two year period, each time returning home with suggestions, and improvements to be made until we reached a point where we were completely happy.

The classical guitar aesthetics make the Solana 6 very unique and is undeniably an eye catcher.  Over those two years we noticed one very consistent pattern - it wasn't until people picked it up and played it that they truly understood the instrument. They had to play it and once they did, they couldn't not play it.

For us, that said it all. Play it. Love it.

We are truly excited about all of the feedback we have recieved so far and we cant wait to hear what you all have to say!
