Deering to be Honored at 2014 IBMA Awards

by David Bandrowski

International Bluegrass Music Association, (IBMA)  has announced the nominations for their annual awards and this year, Deering is thrilled to announce that we have been recognized by IBMA for our contributions to bluegrass music and will be bestowed with the Distinguished Achievement Award during the IBMA World of Bluegrass Conference in Raleigh, NC on Thursday, October 2nd. Each year, IBMA honor five individuals and on behalf of everyone at Deering Banjo Company, we are extremely proud to be one of these five recipients this year. We would also like to congratulate the other four recipients of this prestigious award!

Deering Banjo Artists have also led the way in some of the major categories this year. Long time Deering endorser, collaborator and close friend Jens Kruger has received his first nomination for Banjo Player of the Year.  As if that wasn't enough, Deering artists The Gibson Brothers have also been nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Vocal Group of the Year, Terry Baucom for Recorded Event of the Year, and the Steep Canyon Rangers for Instrumental Recorded Event of the Year. We would like to congratulate all of the nominees this year for all of their dedication to providing us with great music.
