Deering Banjo Company Employees Honored

Each year, Deering Banjo Company holds its annual company lunch to eat some good food under the warm San Diego sun and celebrate with the presentation of employee anniversary awards. 2013 was no exception and on Friday August 16th, the whole crew gathered together for a feast and some special awards!

A HUGE congratulations to all our employees who in total make up a combined 326 years of banjo manufacturing experience. We can proudly say that Deering definitely knows banjo!

Don Sarver in our Neck Sanding area celebrated 10 years...

 

...as did Tony Morbello in Goodtime Final Assembly. If you own a Goodtime, chances are Tony set it up!
Jens Kruger recieved a special award for his R&D contributions to the world of Deering banjos...
...while Felix Rodriguez also celebrated 10 years of running and managing our CNC area.
Dylan Edwards is responsible for the intricate hand inlays and binding on all of our upper line resonators and he celebrated 15 years with Deering.
Jack Causey (pictured with Jens Kruger) celebrated 3 years of fretting Goodtime necks...
...while John Kavanaugh received a special award for his service as the creator of the famed Kavanjo pick ups that has redefined the banjo in live performance.

 

Brett Skeet accepted his award after three years of making Deering pots...
...while Roy Crosby celebrated 5 years of building Deering resonators.

 

And last but not least, Colby Simonic celebrated 5 years of Deering Final Assembly. Colby has had the opportunity to assemble and set up some of the finest banjos in the world, including two Gabriella's in the last 2 years!
