Has it been a week already? We are back with the next installment of our 5 string banjo for absolute beginners series, and this week we are moving to the F chord.
So far, Bob (bobhamilton.net) has covered the basics of the banjo, as well as the G and D7 chords, and then the C chord. This week, we start to incorporate the F chord.
The F chord is the first 4-finger chord that you will learn in this series. Its shape begins with the D7 chord, before adding your ring and pinky fingers to create the F chord, as Bob displays in this video.
Be sure to make contact with the string with the tip of your finger, not the pad and as I mentioned last week, don't press too hard. A lighter touch will help you much more down the road.
Its been a couple of weeks now. How are you getting on? Are you enjoying these lessons? Anything your are struggling with? Let us know in the comments.
Good luck! We will be posting more lessons soon!
