Continuing with the spirit of giving to the communities welcoming them, Mumford & Sons and Deering Banjos bring you the European Charity Banjos! A Custom one-of-a-kind banjo was made for each country the band is visiting on their May tour. Countries including: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Holland, and Belgium.
Deering Banjos has partnered with Mumford and Sons to create special banjos to be auctioned for charities in each location they visit on their upcoming US tour.
With a common desire to give back to communities our lives bring us in contact with, starting in 2013 Mumford & Sons and Deering Banjos have brought a unique charity campaign to the cities and towns of Mumford & Sons tour. In the next leg of this campaign we arrive at a continent dear to the banjo's heart, and the land of South Africa! Beginning Jan 29th, 2016 Mumford & Sons will be playing in Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria.

The weather outside is getting balmy, springtime approaches and festival season will be in full swing before we know it. A little over a year and a half ago, we blogged about the early signs of what we predicted would be a major banjo resurgence, with particular reference to an article about Mumford & Sons that was published in Rolling Stone entitled "God, Beer & Banjos". (Click here to see the original article) There is no denying that in the last couple of years, the banjo has been seemingly unavoidable due in large part to the multitude of different bands using the humble instrument as a core part of a sound that spans a plethora of different genres. But no band has done more to put the banjo firmly back on the music map than Mumford & Sons.
