Jamie moved to San Diego from his native England in 2011 and has been part of the Deering team ever since. He has over 13 years experience in the musical instruments industry and has played music for as long as he can remember. His favorite Deering model is the 40th Ann. model. Jamie is married with three children and enjoys time with family, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and of course, playing music.

Quel Bordel invaded the Deering lobby last week for a special rendition of "Ang Pasko Ay Sumapit".  Ang Pasko Ay Sumapit is a Filipino Christmas song which, as Aaron explains at the start of the video means "Christmas is Here".

I don't know about you, but one of the greatest joys I get from playing and owning a banjo is taking it out of the case and simply admiring it for a few moments before I play. In particular, I like to look at the intricacies of the inlays in the fingerboard. But then I notice something horrendous on the frets!

Deering Launches Banjo Service Center

Deering has kicked off its new Service Center with three easy to order service packages. The banjo is to making music what a knife is to a chef. It is the tool that we use to help bring the thoughts and ideas within the realms of our imagination to life. It would seem appropriate, therefore, that from time to time our tools need some tender loving care to keep them performing perfectly.

 John Hartford has been the topic of much conversation around the Deering offices of late, as we prepare to introduce a very special model later this year. During the process, we spent some time digging through old files, papers, images and slides and stumbled across this interview with John from 1989, about his Deering Hartford Model. It was written on a typewriter, complete with typos, edits, red ink and a sense of history that was too fun not to share with everybody. Enjoy!

"Is the banjitar a real banjo?” has been a much loved subject of music forums and comment sections the world over. Did I say banjitar? I meant Guitjo. Excuse me...I obviously meant Ganjo... Clearly, even knowing what to call the instrument is a quandary for folks!

Did you know that Elle King plays banjo? The incredibly talented Elle King performed in the Deering Woodroom recently, armed only with a Sierra banjo. The Ohio born songstress is emerging as a rising star and has seen great success in the last year, receiving a Grammy nod for her platinum selling track, "Ex's & Oh's", as well as several prominent performances including The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Bonaroo and SXSW.
